Our corner plot gives us plenty of room to play outside. Four outdoor spaces give children every kind of outdoor experience, whatever the weather and whatever their age.
Our main garden is laid with soft artificial grass, so it's ready for play in every season, with shade nets overhead to keep little ones cool on sunny days. There's room for giant floor games like snakes and ladders, a fenced corner for sand and water play, and a red track around the edge for trikes, pushchairs and ride-on toys.
There's space for busy, active games and quieter corners too, so every child can find their own kind of fun. Time outside builds balance, coordination and confidence, and it's where so many friendships begin.
Our growing garden is a sunny patch of real lawn with raised planters along the wall, where children dig, plant seeds and watch them grow. It's a lovely way to learn about nature, the seasons and where food comes from.
Looking after plants teaches patience and responsibility, and there's nothing quite like the pride on a child's face when something they planted finally appears.
Tucked beneath silver birch trees, our mud kitchen is a firm favourite. With a wooden play kitchen, a picnic bench and logs to sit on, children mix, pour, stir and serve up all sorts of imaginary dishes, and get gloriously messy doing it.
This open-ended play builds imagination, language and teamwork, as well as the fine motor skills children need for early writing.
Our soft play area is a busy, multi-use space with a cushioned rubber surface, so little ones can ride, run and tumble safely. It's where children zoom around on trikes and balance bikes, join in physical activities and play group games together, with colourful chalkboard flowers on the wall for drawing.
It's a brilliant place to burn off energy, building strength, balance, coordination and confidence, and learning to take turns and play as a team.
