Consumables charges

Government funding covers your child's funded place, but doesn't cover meals. For children accessing funded hours, we make a separate, itemised daily consumables charge shown as its own line on every invoice, never bundled into your session fee. Children under 3 aren't charged for consumables, as their higher funding rate already covers this.

ItemFull funded dayMorningAfternoon
Lunch£4.75£4.75Not charged
Afternoon snack£0.50Not charged£0.50
Afternoon tea£3.75Not charged£3.75
Famly app use£1.00£1.00£1.00
Total per funded session£10.00£5.75£5.25

Morning sessions end at 1:00pm, so they include lunch plus the Famly app charge. Afternoon sessions start at 1:00pm, after lunch, so they include the afternoon snack and afternoon tea, plus the Famly app charge.

Provided free, at no charge: wipes, nappy creams, Calpol, Piriton, Bonjela, Vaseline, suncream, and all trips and outings. We've chosen to cover these ourselves rather than charge for them, in line with our values as a setting.

The food consumables charge is optional. If you'd prefer to provide your child's meals yourself, you're welcome to opt out with two months' written notice (changes can't take effect mid-term). Your child keeps their funded place and receives exactly the same care and education either way. If you opt out: you'll provide food in line with our packed meal policy, invoices will be sent by email rather than through the Famly app, communications will be by email or verbal only, and attendance days become subject to availability and may change term to term. If we don't hear from you, we'll assume you're opting in.

Fees for privately paying (non-funded) attendance already include meals, snacks and all resources, see the fees above. Fees are due on the first working day of each month.

Average across 12 real 2026 months
Your weekly figure is based on a typical week matching the pattern you've selected. Your monthly figure is a genuine 12-month average: rather than simply multiplying your weekly figure, we work out your likely charge for every real calendar month from January to December 2026 using the exact weekdays that fall in each one, then average all 12. This accounts for months having different numbers of, say, Mondays or Fridays. Your bill in any single month may run a little higher or lower than this average. Bank holidays and our Christmas closure days are billed as normal attendance days. Figures use current government funding rates, for guidance only. See Understanding government funding and our consumables charges for full detail, or speak to The Cornerhouse team to check your own figures.
